Who Takes the Blame for Failure?

Failure...who is to Blame?
Who Takes the Blame for Failure?
Life can be unfair… it can be difficult…it can be downright disheartening…it can make you want to puke or to cry but a common denominator is the ever present spectre of failure.
It’s human nature to want to blame someone or something else for failure. Especially if you have an inflated opinion of your abilities or if you believe that you deserve accolades for your efforts and end up getting none!
We don’t like to admit to failure…absolutely no way.” It should have turned out differently”…”I should have passed”…” I aught to have received the Gold Award considering all the hard work and sacrifice” and so on and so on…
Failure though means different things to different people.
Failure can be an acceptance that you made a complete mess of a project and that there are no redeeming aspects to give a glimmer of hope for future efforts.
Or failure can be an essential part of greater success in the future and will just be a temporary glitch in reaching that sought after goal.
The most usual stance however, is to immediately conjure up a list of reasons for failure that can be levelled at anyone or anything other than yourself.
It’s comforting to shift the blame to someone else…it even makes you feel good to sidestep your responsibilities and launch an attack on your current enemy. Yes you can feel really good after you catch your breath and then your failure isn’t really a failure at all but someone else’s fault.
It’s how you react to failure, whatever that means to you, that determines your success in the future however.
If you persist in apportioning blame to someone or something else then the project you have been attempting to succeed in will undoubtedly founder… and permanently!
If you can, for a moment, examine the possibility that perhaps you yourself didn’t do everything that you should have done or everything that could have been done to influence the outcome then there is definitely hope for you.
Success isn’t something that comes to you automatically or even instantly; although with the right preparation this can happen. Success doesn’t just fall into your lap because you spent X amount of money and now need to see an immediate return.
Success sometimes comes to you as a result of small incremental changes in the way you do things, not necessarily in the mega moves that are more obvious.
Failure is an important ingredient in ultimate lasting success although at the time it can be demotivating and painful not to mention energy sapping and sickening!
Success is rarely possible without the help of a mentor and with out a good set of ears. We are not born with an unlimited resource of success although you could consider the human brain to be just that. It’s like a multi mega hard drive with no files. It needs to be filled up and then accessed regularly.
We need to work on our ideas for sure and build a portfolio of success principles to which we add the ideas of others who have been successful before us and who have most likely failed more often than us to date.

Yep, I agree to all that blaming-your-own-failure-on-others rant wholeheartedly. Talking about car driving, this mentality is the major cause of accidents. As long as people blame others in their own mistakes, they don't realize it is in their own hands to avoid all but a very few accidents...
